People with Hearing Impaired Network (PHIN) is a voluntary, non-profit Disabled People’s Organization (DPO), registered under the Societies Registration Act 2001 in the year 2007. The organization registration no. is 333 of 2007. The PHIN organization was founded by Mrs. V. Janaki, President & P. Balakrishna Reddy, General Secretary who are an eminent leaders in Hyderabad. We started a Residential School in 2013 to fulfil their needs and 1st of its kind exclusively for girls in the entire state.

PHIN (Deaf School) is working hard to enlighten the bright future of students and having special and trained teachers who are expert in ISL (Indian Sign Language) and initially started with seven students and currently increased with a strength of 159 out of which 32 are orphans referred by Child Welfare Committee and some children having single parent with rural background from Under Privileged Families from all religions, some are having multiple disabilities.

Smt. V. Janaki, President of PHIN, is a Deaf (Hearing-impaired) woman hailing from the most marginalized family. She experienced discrimination and stigma in the community towards people with Disabilities. The strong passion never let her to sleep, and she started her career as an activist. Based on her strong determination, she started this organization, and during the process, a survey was conducted and at the grassroots level, she found that there is a necessity for disabled children, and mainly for the hearing impaired, who require quality education as a part of our fundamental right. PHIN also established its wing in Pune, Maharashtra.
